Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information Meridian Digital collects through this website, why, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Meridian Digital is a trading name of Abdiaziz Mohamed Osman, a sole trader based in England. He is the controller of the personal information described here (“we” and “us” in this notice).

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form, or email us directly, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, business name (optional), email address, website address (for a website review), the service you are interested in and the content of your message.

Our hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) in server logs to keep the website secure and running. The enquiry form also uses your IP address, briefly and in memory only, to limit repeated submissions.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not load third-party trackers, fonts or scripts. Because of that, there is no cookie banner. If this ever changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, prepare a quote. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• If we go on to work together, to deliver the project and manage our relationship. Lawful basis: contract.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your information, use it for marketing without your permission, or use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers who help us run the business and act on our instructions (processors):

• Vercel Inc. hosts this website and processes the form submission on its servers.
• Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) delivers form submissions by email: a notification to our mailbox, and a one-off confirmation to the email address you entered so you know your message arrived. The confirmation does not repeat what you wrote.
• Cloudflare, Inc. forwards emails sent to our business address to our mailbox.
• Google (Gmail) is the mailbox where we read and answer your messages.

Our website logs record that a form was sent, with a reference number, the type of form, the domain part of your email address (for example “gmail.com”) and whether delivery worked. They do not contain your name, full email address or message. Some of these providers are based outside the UK (mainly in the United States); where that is the case we rely on an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within [12 months] of our last contact. Client records are kept for as long as needed for the project and then for up to six years to meet legal and accounting requirements.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your personal information, and to ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, to object to how we use it, and in some cases to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, email hello@studiomeridian.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
